My guess is that if Blevins gets the top 5 and therefore the automatic, the committee will select an open, not a u23 rider if the US keeps the second spot.

I’d be really interested to see either Riley and how they would do in the open division. The US seems well set for the future.

    Ft. Bill!!

Consensus is that paid MAX is the only way to watch this now in Murica?

So much of the pre season content is talking about how hard Ft. Bill will be for a first race.

I have only seen Max for US. I think that other than maybe differential rates, the streaming is paid content everywhere so VPN may not make too big of a difference.

In case anyone needs additional fantasizing, Vital has a fantasy league this year too.

    https://www.vitalmtb.com/fantasy

Slightly different format than pinkbike. And you can't set a team until the rider list is released (usually the Wednesday before the race).

I was about to post the same thing up.

And there does look like some difference in pricing for MAX... not sure it's worth it for me to find a VPN and wade through what the cheapest option is.

Anyone tally up the approximate cost to pay for Max through the full WC DH season? At some point it comes down to what would I pay per race if it were on demand on Amazon.

Asa Vermette is heading over to Ft Bill and planning to race.
He’s not officially 100% healed, but he’s riding without any pain or impingement, feeling great on the bike.
Stoked to see him on the Ft Bill track.

Max subscription purchased. If for no other reason than to see if the new semi-legal, inevitably controversial, pseudo speed suits are the difference at windy Ft William.

I can’t believe that I haven’t seen Rachel mentioned even once in the discussions I’ve seen over the new suits. Good for her, I guess. I wouldn’t want some things I did at 18 continually discussed years later.

From the Max subscription page it looks like $10/mo with adds will get race coverage. $5 more for no adds.
    Can anyone confirm?

Did Rachel catch heat over wearing a speed suit when was 18?

To my knowledge, the only riders with the new Fox aero suits this weekend are Laurie Greenland, Nina Hoffman, and Tahnee Seagrave.

Man, picking a fantasy draft for the first race of the year is always tough. Is Myriam gonna be fast or is she still kinda injured? Or Amaury? Or the top couple juniors from last year?

Either way, good to be back. Fingers crossed for Dak and his ape hangers. 'Murica!

I like the Vital fantasy better. Team size is up to you. Lots of bargains out there.

I don’t remember which race now, but Rachel lost to Tracey Mosley by 8 seconds and blamed it on TM’s skin suit. She wrote “skin suits suck” across her arms and raised them for the podium photo. She gave an interview later saying basically well and good if Tracey wants to go fast and win, but image is important for our sponsors. The UCI baggy rule came out shortly afterwards IIRC. More than one person has made a joke about UCI rules changing post-Atherton complaint.

Edit- the internets say it was Canberra 2008.

Canberra was such a shitty course. Didn't Jared Graves win it on a stumpjumper?

Bigger gap between 1 and 2 than between 2 and like 12.

X frame Enduro, I think... But might be confusing that with Gwinn in South Africa

    1) great race. Love how tight 3-10 were
    2) the audio was off for me, by 8-15 seconds
